First off I am a PART TIME operation.
I am the only person working on your order. Sure sometimes I have helpers/employees but not often.
I am a full-time fireman for the city of Muncie. So I do have a real job.
I do have kids in school, boy scouts, soccer, etc.
There are many weeks when I can only pull parts one day a week. Other weeks maybe 3 or 4 days.
When I am on the road buying picking up cars I can not be at the shop pulling your parts. I also will not tell you when you place your order that I will be out of town for 6 days picking up cars for obvious reasons. Mainly getting robbed.
I own my shop and all the other buildings on my 10.5 acres are leased out. So besides working all 150+ parts cars I have maintenance to do on all the buildings and property. Hell I spent 3 hours picking up trash the other day!!!
I prefer emails as there is a record of what was talked about and prices quoted.
NEVER use right or left. Instead use PASSENGER or DRIVERS side.
I ship small parts US Postal service. Heavy parts go UPS or Fedex.
If you must call that is fine but understand 3 weeks later when you call back and want to purchase the part the price may change. Now it may be the last one I have. Or I may have gotten in a better one.
If you call and say your the guy that ordered the 1962 Pontiac parts that does not tell me anything. I get 30-100 emails a day. Some days I do not answer them all. I may have 7 orders for 62 parts going at any given time....
I can not remember everyone's needs. So don't ask me to call you when I get a part in.
My inventory changes ever second. If I do not have a part when you call I may have it 10 minutes later. Happens often that I get a call for a 59 headlight bezel and I'm sold out. Only to get the next email and have a guy wanting to sell me 3 1959 Pontiacs and he is 1 hour away. And he just so happens to have an attic full of headlight bezels too! You get the idea.
I do not have tripowers and 421's sitting on the shelf waiting for your call so I can finally get rid of that old junk. Most highly desirable parts sell even before I get the cars here. Some before I buy the car. Other people pay me for a part so they get the next one I find even though I do not even have a lead on one.
You do not need to wait for an "Open House" to come see what I have in person. You can make an appointment anytime.
I do not tell people when I am on vacation or when I have a road trip planned. So if you have an order in I may be gone for a week but you will not know this. Hope you can figure out why. Its like telling people COME ROB ME PLEASE. I will not be there so take what you want!
Condition of parts: I hate this one. It is very rare that I will say a part is perfect. Very rare. I often say a part is crap or junk. I tell it like it is. Whats the point of lying. You will see in person when you get the part anyway so why waist my time and yours. Now do I know the condition of every part on every car. Hell no. Will I take 2000 photos a week and email 5000 people only to sell 143 parts. HELL NO. I have lots of photos of cars on file in this computer and may have one of the part you are looking for. If I do I will gladly email you a photo of it. It may not show your part exactly but you can get an idea of the condition of the car or part.
I offer this guarantee. If for any reason you do not like the part or parts you have purchased from me, please feel free to send them back for a full refund MINUS 10% labor fee. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Reason is I see a lot of junk and when I find a part that is good in my opinion I base it on the fact that I have seen 13 of these parts in the last 2 years and none have been as good as this one. Does this mean its perfect? HELL NO. It may still be a piece of shit but due to the knowledge I have of how hard it is to find one even in this condition I give it a decent rating. So the part I think is decent you may think is a piece of shit. Its just that you have not spent 2 years looking and I have. Then you will find maybe my piece of shit is not so bad after all. Get it?
Just understand that these are 30-50 year old parts and its very rare to find a Mint/Perfect part after 100,000 miles on old gravel roads. Use some common sense and be reasonable or go somewhere else.
Most emails I answer then delete. I figure if you get back to me then we will continue otherwise I do not need your email jambing up my computer.
If you send me a check for $500 and do not tell me what your paying for I will cash your check and your order will sit on my order board until you email or call me complaining about not getting your parts. I do not have time to spend 3 hours a day researching through 500 emails to find yours.
If you include your phone #, what you are paying me for, your email address, printed copies of our emails, photos of the parts or damaged area you need.....All these things help speed up your order.
I do not take credit cards.
If you ask about fenders and quarter panels you had better be sitting down.
I DO NOT SHIP Large body parts or glass anymore. Maybe a radiator core support now and then.
Instant Paypal payments DO NOT speed up your order. Had a bad deal with Paypal in May 09 and prefer not to use them if I can. Ebay takes enough of my hard earned money anyway.
I process orders in the order they are recieved or in the natural order of work. In other words....If I get an order for a carburator and an order for a crank shaft, what part do you think will get shipped first?
There is no price list. I make this shit up.
I DO know how much work it takes to get a lot of these parts pulled. I also know how rare many parts are.
I may quote you one price this week and a different price the next.
It sucks to pull parts when its 3 degrees outside but I will.
You better expect delays on your order in winter.
I can transport cars LEGALLY.
I do buy cars. Have one or 35 for sale?
I rarely buy parts.
I do not have $40,000 in the bank waiting for your show car to come my way. I mainly buy parts cars.
I do buy other makes. I have some Buicks, Oldsmobiles and Impalas.
I will buy anything if I think I can make money selling it. Even a box of dead dogs. If I know I have a buyer who is willing to pay more than I paid for them. They are MINE!!! Here boy......
I do not buy many cars from the midwest. 90% come from out west and that ain't cheap.
I prefer all original "Virgin" cars that are complete and untouched...
I do not buy cars from the east coast or southeast very often if ever.
I try to have an Open House even 45 days or so. Your welcome anytime by appointment.
I now understand why the old junkyard guy was such an asshole when I was a kid.
